As of today, www.callawaygardens.com is optimized for mobile phones. By Thursday of this week, it will be optimized for tablet devices.
Optimization means that the site will automatically adjust and deliver the content to appropriately fit the screen being used. Additionally, the content delivers quicker.
“We are so excited to be able to provide our website in a format that is more readily available for our guests using mobile devices,” said Rachel Crumbley, director of marketing and public relations. “We were able to launch our new website in October 2012. This year, we began working on this phase because we know that at least a quarter of our web traffic is from a mobile device.”
Fed by the desktop version of the website, the mobile access will make it simple to make a room reservation, purchase a ticket — such as to Fantasy In Lights or TreeTop Adventure — as well as check event information or get directions and a map to travel to the Gardens. The site even allows meeting planners, brides or groups to submit a modified version of a request for proposal to plan a function. The site also features a quick “call” button to immediately place a phone call to a Callaway Gardens representative and includes direct links to Callaway Gardens’ social media sites.
Crumbley added, “For quick access, we suggest guests bookmark the site. It will definitely be a site you want to use before and during your next visit to Callaway Gardens.”
