TreeTop Adventure

Now that school’s back in session, the temperature has dropped just enough to make it a delight to be outdoors. Bye, bye to the sweaty, hot, sticky summer.  It’s time to enjoy the outdoors.

If you’re a parent and you’re looking for fun outdoor activities for kids, we’ve got a lot to offer here at Callaway Gardens.

In fact, we have a wonderful family-friendly package available this fall. It’s the Nature Naturally Outdoor Weekend Package taking place November 11 through November 13, 2011.

The package includes two nights’ stay at the Mountain Creek Inn, a cookout on Friday night, TreeTop Adventure, Laser Tag and Raptor Walk on Saturday and boating on Sunday morning.

Of course, the package includes admission to our world-class gardens featuring the Day Butterfly Center, the Sibley Horticultural Center, live Birds of Prey Shows, seven miles of hiking trails and our 10-mile Discovery Bicycle Trail.

The price? Rates start at $179.50 per person for two nights based on double occupancy.

Other options

Can’t make it that weekend? We’ve actually got fun outdoor activities for kids year-round. Check out our events calendar for more ideas. Here are a few highlights:

Visit Mr. Cason’s Vegetable Garden: This 7.5 acre garden offers lots of opportunities for kids to learn about plants and vegetables. Parents who enjoy gardening will also leave inspired.

Check out TreeTop Adventure: Our newest attraction features five zip lines ranging in length from 44 to 210 feet long as well as 19 other sections with ladders, wires, logs, discs, netting and other suspended surfaces. All told, the TreeTop Adventure spans 1,500 feet in length and 30 feet in the air above the forest floor. Reservations are strongly suggested.

Get wet at Robin Lake Beach: The beach will be open for several days in September. As always, there’s a hub bub of activities that the kids will love at Robin Lake Beach: a childrens’ playground, table tennis, swimming, sunbathing, blaster boats, water skiing and more.

Take a hike: One of the best ways to enjoy the outdoors at Callaway Gardens is to go for a long walk along one of our more than seven miles of hiking trails. Each trail has its own characteristics, view and difficulty level. We have eight trails to choose from.
